Squares done!

All squares are done and 4 of them are together! I brought 4 more to work today so that maybe I can get those together as well.

Track & Field starts tomorrow for my daughter, so now the next 4 months will have me at practice 3 nights a week and meets on Saturdays! I like to walk the track during practice so I don't know how much crocheting I'll get done. Last year I did a baby blanket. (pictured below) I can work on Andrews squares though as they are pretty portable and I can squeeze in time after walking. Now to come up with dinner plans for the 3 nights that I'm not home until 8:00. The boys will be eating a lot of fast meals, if only I could get them to cook...hmmmm.

Now I'm off to whip those squares together!

I have a cold

I really do not like having any kind of illness. Once someone gets it then it will run through my house and my sisters house so it will seem like there are sick people for weeks! I took my Airborne & my Emer'gen-C and my Sudifed so I'm hoping that I can knock it out of my system quickly and then I will load my kids up with Airborne & Emer'gen C and if I cross my fingers it might bypass them! Anyway enough of my sick rambles.

I did get all but the last square done for Jon's blanket! That will be finished tonight and then I can get it put together. yeah for me! Then I can get my mother's scarf started and out of the way before I start Andrew's Orange & Turquiose monster!

I got all of my yarn that I have at home (I have 2 containers here at my sisters) organized and labeled. I have 5 large plastic bins and I went through them & sorted by WIP's, baby yarn, thread and worsted by color. My fancy yarns are in cute hat boxes and baskets in the living room. I need to make some squares and send them to http://thecrochetdude.blogspot.com/
I have enough miscellaneous yarn to make lots of squares!

This is the yarn my mom picked for her scarf.

My Aerosmith shirt

Here's my new Aerosmith shirt! It's rocks!
-------------------------->

I really like the colors, I think I might use them in a little something, something! More yarn for me.

Yarn Porn Friday!!

This is yarn that my sister bought for me yesterday. She knows I'm a sucker for wool lately and she saw this and got it for me! It's Joann's Sensations "Marvel" in Cinnamon. It's very pretty with the different hues of red...I guess I'll have to make myself a new scarf! Drat! Maybe I'll try to knit one up...hmmm.

My Mom picked out some yarn at Micheal's last night for her new scarf. I'll post that yarn picture as well. I really want to get some Noro Kureyon. That's on my yarn wish list!

The Day After

I am so freakin tired! I can not stay up late anymore, my sister says I'm a baby but whatever! I need my 8 hours!!!! Concert rocked! Expected no less because they are Gods of the music industry. Seriously they are always fanfreakintastic! Very much fun was had by all and I screamed and danced a lot, throat a little sore and voice a little hoarse. I would really like a nap though. The limo ride down and back is so the way to go. The driver dropped us off in front of the Staples Center and then picked us up right after. No sitting in the parking lot for 45 minutes waiting to get out of there, no paying for parking & no walking a mile to the car after the show! So much fun! I love watching Aerosmith perform though the sound at the staples center could have been better, but alas there's nothing I can do about that! Really must nap!

Rock On!!

Ok tonight is the Aerosmith concert! yipee! We are getting limo and going in style! I can't wait. I'm leaving work a little early to make dinner for the kids and to get myself all dolled up! :) We are drinking wine on the way there since no one (except the guy that is paid to) has to drive!

My daughter wants a hamster...She said "but Mom they are only $10" I told her while that maybe true the set up for the said hamster to live would cost much more then that. She called her Dad to ask him for the money. He told her he would send her everything minus the hamster which she could get after everything arrived. Now she's very excited and dancing around thinking about her little hamster friend. Great!

I finished another square, watched some of the Olympics and went to bed early last night. I'm very sleepy lately which could prove problematic tonight with the staying out late and all, but at least I don't have to drive anywhere.

My Mom wants me to make her a new scarf for her cruise to Alaska, so we will head off to the yarn store tomorrow and pick out something for her. She wants it wider the normal so that she can wear it over her head if she wants so I will have to think up a new design that can accommodate those requirements. Shouldn't be too hard. I am hoping to keep her away from color combos that are too hedious to wear. I have no objections to crazy color combos for afghans but I draw the line at scarves. Just kidding I really don't care...I'm not wearing it anyway.

Well I should get finished up and clean off my desk for the day.
AEROSMITH in 5 1/2 hours!

This is Happy Hippy George

Well here it is Monday afternoon and I've done very little. Got some new songs for my ipod, ate some lunch, cruised around on the internet & got 2 orders. That's pretty much it for my day, did have a few all regarding quotes, but nothing much. I guess with it being a holiday and the weather back east everythings slow.

This is George...he's actually a lovely dark purple but no matter how & where I photographed him he did not come out looking purple. Now what's a poor hippo to do? His head and snout are a bit big for his body I think but I followed the pattern for him.

I'm think about doing my next animal in wool so I can felt him up! Nice!

Wow how boring am I today...I have nothing to say. I do wish that I could get the cute little buttons to go in my sidebar and put other stuff there as well, I wonder if there is a blogger for dummies out yet? Just a thought!

It's Friday...Finally!

Here is square #16 of 20 for my stepsons blanket! It is actually Dark Blue, but the camera only sees blue when I try to take a pic of anything purple! (I'll post George on Monday, you'll see!) Hopefully over the weekend I can get all squares completed and start the long tedious process of joining them! Not to mention the weaving in of all ends!

It's supposed to rain this weekend dashing my 13 year olds plans of going to the skatepark! He takes disappointment oh so well...I can't wait for his moodiness!

I do love that's it Friday, no lunches to pack up, no alarm clocks going off, no one complaining about school! Just the Saturday morning routines of cleaning and groceries and crocheting. On Sunday we have a family gathering at my sisters with my Uncle Bill and my cousins so that will be fun!

I think I might be out of wine so I guess that is now on my to do list before I go home along with picking up crickets for the lizards!

Happy Friday and I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Another square done

Well I have gotten another square done for my stepsons blanket...only 6 more to go.

I was born in raised in California and yet I will still never get used to the weather! Hot one day & chilly the next! My hands are frozen today! I might have to figure out some fingerless gloves! Just wait until June when I'm wankin about the heat!

I'm trying to teach myself to knit! I've been crocheting since I was about 10 and it comes very naturally to me but for some reason knitting is giving me fits!! I can not get comfortable doing it. I'm thinking about taking a lesson or 2 at my neighborhood yarn store. Plus side of that is I get to check out some of their yummy yarns!

Hump Day

Wednesdays are a slow day at work. I got to crochet today...working on my oldest stepson's blanket. It's 20 12 inch squares. Just 2 colored granny squares, his is 5 rounds of RH Tan fleck and then 7 rounds of Caron pounder in Midnight Blue. Nice colors together and I like the sturdiness of the yarns for teenaged boys. I made one for my oldest son for Christmas is Red & Black and it works up nice plus he loved it! Now I have all of these blankets due for all of my kids. I have four plus two stepsons, so they are all getting their favorite color with something to match with it. The next one is going to be Orange (egads) and I'm thinking Teal as the middle. Could be fun. My 15 year old wants his to be Lime Green & Purple, now there's a fun combo. :)
I'll be heading for Joann's after work today to pick up another skein of the Caron Pounder in Midnight Blue since it's on sale until Friday and hopefully they will have it this time, everytime I try to get it they only have 1 skein. grrr.

Here's Beaver Bob

This here is Beaver Bob. I made him from a Roxycraft pattern as well with a few adjustments. I crocheted his teeth instead of using felt as the pattern called for.

Happy Valentine's Day to all!

My first amigurami - Miss Pinky Pickles

Ok here is my first one. I bought the pattern from Roxycrafts.com
Her eye is a little off and she is pink which my kids say is a silly color for a frog but I think she's a cutie!

my negleted blog

I read other blogs almost daily and I always check out new ones, yet for some reason I forget to post here! Nice.

Okay on with the updates...
I have a new love of felting! I've read things on doing it and thought it would be interesting to try one day but since I always have other projects going I jsut did't have time. Well Joann's was having a sale on Paton's Classic Wool and I have a concert to go to next week I thought I could put aside my stepson's blanket for a minute and whip up a small purse to carry my cell phone and some cash in. Designed a liitle pattern (well made it up as I went) and then felted it! Came out a wee bit too small for the original use but my daughter loves it and I made another over the weekend a bit bigger! I will post pictures as soon as i figure out how to.
