Wild Picture Wednesday!

Ok, I took a few pictures last night to play catch up! This is the stack of squares (minus 2) for Andrews blanket! Whew almost done! (they are folded in fourths)
I can't wait for this to be off my hook!
Next we have the current baby blanket that I am making:

I have started on the yellow, but I might frog the whole thing because I don't like the green...I don't know yet!

Here are the pictures of my recent yarn purchases:
Now I have no idea what this will be used for yet, but at a dollar a skein I CAN'T pass that up! I bought 4 (that was all they had)
This was on sale and I loved the color and the texture so, well I always need another scarf!
And now the Dollar Tree yarn...it is the Bernet Ping Pong in black. I will be using the red Fun Fur with it to make a scarf. I like the black base and then the "hairs" of red sticking out! It will be fun.
That's all I've got so far! I'm doing research to see where the yarn stores are in Vegas, if anyone knows any let me know!

Bad blogger...

Wow...I haven't posted since the 15th! I have been crocheting though and buying yarn! I bought yarn at the dollar tree, 2 skeins of black with a shiny black in it (I need pictures!) and I bought 2 red fun furs at Joann's to got with the black (another scarf for me!) I bought some fabulous yarn called Curious in a lovely color and have been buying one pound skeins for my cousins blanket in the Florida Gator colors. I also started and 4 color baby blanket for my brother and sister in law and bought some TLC baby in a beautiful variegated pinks and greens! I am currently working on Andrews Orange and Black blanket and only have 1 1/2 more squares to go before that's done (well not DONE done but the squares will be complete) My son Brandon now wants his blanket in White & Black so that will be my travel companion on my road trip to Las Vegas next week end and then I can haul it to Yosemite the following weekend!
All of my kids are now at their Dad's so I have a lot of free time (and quiet time) to get some things caught up and completed!

I will take pictures tonight of my new yarns and post some yummy yarn porn tomorrow!

Hey-hey

Ok well since I don't have anything new to post I thought, since I was washing it anyway, that I would post something old!
I started this giant granny square one day 16 years ago! I had some leftover yarn from a pom pom on a Halloween clown costume that I had made (the blue) and a teeny tiny bit from a scarf for my then 1 year old son, I started with that tiny bit and then added the blue and then found more leftover from scarves from my step sons and then the black. We moved up to Northern California after that and the WIP blanket was packed away. Well when we got settled and I had time to work on it, but didn't have anymore yarn to play with so one day when my husband went out he came back with a bag full of variegated skiens in a variety of colors for me to add. And add I did. I would buy a skein or 2 everytime I went and time passed and it ended up in a cute basket unfinished! In the summer of 2000, I had taken some time off of work to spend it with the kids and we were driving down to Southern California every few weeks to spend time with my family. I pulled it out and started adding again to it. I finished off once it would fit nicely on a queen size bed in July 2000!

Here are some close-ups of the yarns, nothing fancy just the cheap acrylic that I got at Kmart or the thrift store. The bright orange and the yellow that are at the edge are 2 yarns that I let my daughter and niece pick out, little girls!

A new week...

I got the well traveled bag finished and wrapped in time for the party, but I forgot to get a picture of it with my good camera! I managed to get one with my cell phone though so sorry for the quality! Sorry Sas, she loved it! :)

I started yet another afghan this time the one for my cousin and his new wife. I chose Simply Soft yarn this time for it's softness. I am using Orchid in the middle, Sage around that and then Off White for the outside. It will be the same as the last ones I made and the one I'm doing for Andrew's Orange monster, with the variation of a third color in the middle.
I like the colors together and the wedding colors were sage with some lavender flowers so I'm hoping that will work out for them.

Other then that I haven't done much else. I am trying to get Andrew's blanket done before July 15th as that's is when everyone (all the kids with their Dad) is going to Yosemite and I will be meeting them up there to camp.

Where does the time go...

I can not for the life of me figure out where the last month has gone! I feel that I have been busy but not really! Make any sense? I have gotten 13 squares done on Andrew's blanket so that's coming along nicely and I got another Well Traveled Bag done for a birthday gift which will be presented tomorrow night IF I can get it to dry. I struggled hard with the felting of this bag because we have a new washer and it's just not the same as the old one! (should have kept the old on just for felting!) Anyway on with the pictures!

ok that's what I have so far for the pictures! I hope you all enjoy them. Keep your fingers crossed for the drying and assembly of the bag by 4 pm tomorrow!!

I am going to make an afghan for my cousin and his new wife, so I will be hunting yarn for that! Not to mention finding yarn in Florida Gator colors! :)

I am so ready to go home today!
