Thursday

Here we are back at Thursday only 1 more day until a 3 day weekend!  Really I shouldn't complain because I was off yesterday so that Katlyn and I could go to Disneyland.  We haven't been since August...life gets in the way and having Brandon living with us know I felt a bit bad that he couldn't go (seriously it's really expensive, I can't afford it and he still is unemployed!)  but since Katlyn and I have annual passes we decided we were going to go to the happiest place on Earth for the day!  Always fun at Disneyland and the weather was gorgeous!

FMA

Here we are, another week gone and another week of not much yarn play!  I mean I have been working on my second skinny Doctor scarf, but not nearly with as much enthusiasm as the first one!  Oh well it shall get done and then I can get other things moving along.

Watched Pride & Prejudice to celebrate the 200th anniversary.  Ok, I really do not need a reason to watch Pride & Prejudice!

200 Years Strong

I love comfort foods, my favorite being mashed potatoes and since you need something other then just mashed potatoes to make a meal I whip up a lovely gravy which just so happens to include ground beef...Hamburger Gravy we call it around home with a side of corn and just a happy dinner every time!  Doesn't really photograph all that well, but it is delicious!

Superbowl was this past Sunday and we always like our football and food!  I made some Deviled Eggs and decorated them with green onion laces.

I also made some corn muffins with hotdogs baked in them.  They are kind of corn dogs I suppose.  Not too bad.

My 6 year Niece was there with my Brother and she quite enjoys crochet and since I of course brought a bag of yarn with me, she was thrilled to play with it and asked me if I could make a Barbie jacket for her....ummm well I've never actually made a Barbie anything before, yikes!  Ok I do like a challenge and picked up a hook and started making a jacket (sort of) just made it all up as I went and low and behold it worked out!  Of course she required a matching hat as well and really who am I to argue!  So food and crochet during the Superbowl!

I have been searching for nail glitter nail polish that reminds me of a starlit sky and finally found some close to what I had in mind on Etsy.  Put it over a nice deep blue and I love it.  Well until I have to remove it then I will probably not be so happy with it and swear at never using it again!

So while watching the Superbowl on Sunday and not watching my Niece while she played with my yarn, this is what happens...a tangled mess of purple yarn!  I should be happy that it was only the purple considering that there were 6 other skeins in the same bag!

Got that sorted while watching Netflix, but what a mess!  Took well over an hour to work it out.  Now there you have it, all my thrilling news from the past week, woo-hoo!

Yikes, time has slipped by quickly!  Haven't posted in quite awhile I see!  When I'm not doing a ton of projects I don't take as many pictures so I have nothing to post really, I mean who wants to "read" my stories instead of seeing pictures!

Saturday was a lovely sunny day and I had the windows open and the sun shining in my room while decluttering.  Kid enjoyed the sunshine!

Friday night Katlyn and I went to Walgreen's looking for candles that they only sell at Valentine's...they are not selling them this year though!  They of course have loads of chocolate!

We had a bit of rain last week, I mean it is Southern California so nothing major, though some of the drivers on the road seem to think that it's cause for driving 20 miles per hour in a 45 mph zone....ugh!

Reading in the cool evenings, snuggled under a blanket with the dogs hanging out with me is a great way to spend my nights!

Oh yes and visited Santa Rosa to see my kids :)  Christopher put a new stereo and speakers in my car and now there is no crackling and I can listen to my loud songs loud!

Lunch out with the kids in Santa Rosa!  Christopher was saying that the people he follows on Intsagram take a lot of food pictures, so I figured I would share my lunch with him even though he was sitting across the table from me!

My most favorite little girl to hang out with while in Santa Rosa...well technically Windsor, but close enough! Brooke and I had a very nice time together and I got lots of snuggling in with her!

Yay, scarf is done and I love it!  Finished it up last night and proudly wore it to the super market this morning!  It's 12 feet long with the fringe and it is brilliant if I do say so myself!  Honestly I haven't had a scarf make me this happy before.  Now on with the pictures:

Now taking pictures of a completed 12 foot long scarf is quite the challenge!  I can't take one of me wearing it by myself and I really had no desire to doll up for a photo shoot today...it is Sunday afterall and my hair is in it's usual weekend style...piled on top of my head in a bun, messy and bangs clipped straight back, so that and no make up means no way I'm taking a picture, I'll pop to the market like that, but no pictures!  So I now present my finished scarf in all it's glory!

Happy, happy!  Yesterday I did some cleaning and decided it was going to be a day of relaxing a bit and so the dogs and I lounged on my bed with the sun streaming in through the window while they slept and I worked on getting my scarf done!  I read as well and the dogs happily snoozed in the sun, well Kid mostly, Max moved to the other side of the bed into the shady part!

I am trying to keep up on the ends so when I get it completed I don't have all of the weaving in that goes with lots of color changes!  I am really happy with it and am always excited to get to work on it.  Just waiting for dinner to be finished so I can work on it again!

Working steadily on my Doctor Who skinny scarf.  It is progressing quite nicely and I am very much enjoying it.  I sit in the evenings watching Supernatural and working rows back and forth!

Got some of the ends woven in so it won't be such a horrible task at the end.  I have the rows broken into color and inches and the need for a hook change.  (the olive and the rust are Wool-Ease and it's just a bit thinner then Vanna's Choice)

Day 4 has been photographed and will make an appearance in the next post!  Just wanted to get these up to show that I am doing stuff with yarn!  And drinking tea....

Nothing is real

Today is Sunday.  I have posted nothing is over a week, that is a shame.  I have been doing things, not tons of crochet but a bit.  I keep coming up with new projects instead of finishing up the ones already in progress.  I really must get better about that!
Last week I decided I needed a lime green cowl after having seen an outfit on pinterest that featured a lovely lime green cowl paired with a long sleeved gray shirt and jeans.  I of course have lime green yarn because well I was working on a lime green and purple blanket for one of my Sons and he has changed his mind about the colors....let's put that soft lime green yarn to use!

I made it up as I went, did enough chains for it to wrap twice around my neck and did alternating rows of sc & hdc.  I like it but I could do with a bit more rows next time.  This is done is Simply Soft yarn, so it's soft and floppy, just needs a tiny bit more bulk, but it's quite nice and I wore it all day at work without it being cumbersome.

Ok next up, my Sister and I have this running joke and I ran across this pretty little tea cup and saucer set that had the word whore written on it, well since it was Tuesday night and I couldn't very well get it before work the next day I did the next best thing I came up with as a lovely gift for my Sister to come into work to on Wednesday.  I made her a bracelet!  (Photographed on the lime green cowl, showing a much better representation of the color)

Know on with other things keeping me busy!  Since I didn't get any of the DVD's off of my Amazon wish list for Christmas I ordered a couple myself!  First up, Doctor Who the complete first series with my favorite Doctor!

I second one is Lennon Naked which of course stars Christopher Eccleston as John Lennon.  Never been Beatles fan really, a couple songs here and there but I do find John Lennon most interesting after having seen a movie a few years ago that I can't remember that name of but was about how the band came together....anyway John Lennon...Christopher Eccleston AND Andrew Scott... figured it couldn't hurt to get it and check it out.  I did try to get it through Netflix or anywhere really but I'm guessing being as it's a BBC show hard to come by over here in the US.  Anyway I wasn't disappointed and very much enjoyed it.

So DVD's to watch and my new Roku that I did get for Christmas means hanging out lounging on my bed!

Now I decided yesterday that I wanted my own Doctor Who scarf....yes the one that is ridiculously long worn by the 4th Doctor.  I did some research on the colors and went out and got some yarn last night.  Now according to doctorwhoscarf.com I'm sure that my colors are a bit off, but it's not meant to be an exact replica anyway, because well I don't want a scarf that is 11 inches wide and I am not knitting it!  So I am following the measurements of each stripe and color and going along from there.  Mine is only 4 inches wide but will be ridiculously long and I can't wait!

Of course the colors don't look all that correct in the picture but they are pretty good in person I think, though watching a bit of the 4th Doctor last night, the chocolate brown is quite a bit browner then he is wearing!  Oh well, I don't care in the least and so far it's making me very happy to work on!
